Description

Jahnsite-(CaMnFe) is a rare phosphate mineral from the jahnsite group, containing calcium, manganese, and iron. It forms secondarily in metamorphic or pegmatitic environments, usually through the alteration of other phosphate-bearing minerals. Typical occurrences are acicular to prismatic crystals or granular aggregates, often in yellowish-brown to greenish-brown hues, associated with other phosphates. Here, the mineral forms yellowish-brown crystals.
