Description

An attractive dolomite specimen from the well known locality of Sunk near Trieben, Styria, Austria. The piece shows a well formed crystal sitting beautifully on a dolomite matrix, creating a very balanced and aesthetic composition.

The main crystal displays sharp edges and bright, lustrous faces. Smaller crystals on the matrix add additional structure and enhance the overall appearance of the specimen.

Dolomite specimens from this classic Styrian locality have become increasingly scarce, as collecting opportunities there are now extremely limited. This example represents a very aesthetic alpine piece from a locality that is becoming harder and harder to obtain on the market.
