Description

Very aesthetic and aerial flattened crystallized wire of native gold, with distinctive yellow colour and lustre. Characteristic for this Japanese locality and uncommon as gold matrix, is this crystallized black sphalerite, that shows clearly how the gold wires go through it. Gold in matrix from Japan is scarce nowadays in the market, and this piece is a representative specimen from this classic Japanese locality. Mounted on an acrylic socle.

Old specimen, acquired in 1950's, it was from Ing. Felix Azpilicueta Viguera, former mayor of San Sebastian (Spain) in the late 1940’s.
