Description

A superb specimen of pink colored grossular garnet crystals to 2mm from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. Ex. Francesco Spertini collection. The grossular crystals are transparent and gem quality. They are with a glassy luster and pleasing, tender pink color. They have a sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit. Very rare pink garnets from this great and closed mine. It is fluorescent in a bright pink. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In very good condition – some contacts. On acrylic base.
