Description

This is exceptionally delicate material. I actually don't know if it is Andersonite due to the unique way this crystal structure formed but it is a best hint due to the pocket of material it was found growing in. It is water soluble. It is UV reactive. It is a Uranium mineral. Absolutely mesmerizing under magnification. Extremely bright under UV light. Found with Andersonite on sandstone. Stand alone crystals of this type are exceedingly rare and I have come across no other pockets like this single rich area in an abandoned Uranium mine that I was exploring. It is too delicate and small for my collection so I would like to see somebody with a microscope enjoy this one. I will due my best to pack it but it scares me to think of somebody handling this, so be careful if you win!

Seller's terms and conditions

The seller accepts no liability for mishandling of mineral samples or damage during shipment. Research proper handling of radioactive minerals prior to ordering. Common courtesy would imply that one inform roommates, parents, landlord, etc. of such material being present in the home. We do ship all mineral specimens as safely and securely as humanly possible and have much experience doing so. Accidents do happen. For extra delicate and expensive specimens, we provide and recommend the option for an increased insurance level on the shipping whenever possible to cover any damages. This must be expressed upon the payment of the invoice. We do not accept returns. Be certain you want the specimen you are bidding on. We take as many pictures as possible and include accurate measurements, weight, and descriptions. We are a very small family business so we simply cannot absorb the loss of time and money that it takes to process a return. If something breaks during shipment, it is the buyers responsibility to file a claim with the shipping company. We take pictures of everything we send and the condition it is in. If a specimen arrives broken, take many pictures and have proof of the amount paid to seek reimbursement from shipping company. International is not covered by insurance. If there is a question regarding these policies or about a mineral sample, we are open to all communication and will usually respond within 24 hours whenever possible. Readings for Radioactive Minerals are taken with a scintillator device. Radiacode 103 scintillator device is placed on the specimen to read the highest area of activity. This reading can vary greatly with other instruments. Cheap geiger counters will read significantly less. UV minerals are pictures with a 365 nm UV light. Regular 295 nm black lights may not cause the same glowing reaction. Regular pictures are under natural or white led lights.
