Chervetite Francevillite & Curienite

Outstanding micromount from the famous uranium deposit of Mounana, a world-class locality renowned for rare uranium mineral associations. This specimen displays a rich and visually striking mineral assemblage with numerous well-developed crystals.

The dominant feature consists of spectacular bright orange rosettes of francevillite, formed by clusters of radiating prismatic crystals creating spherical aggregates with exceptional brilliance. These rosettes are well developed and highly luminous, typical of the finest occurrences of this sought-after mineral.

Behind these vibrant crystals occur greyish chervetite crystals, clearly visible and providing a subtle contrast to the intense coloration of the uranium minerals.

The specimen is also abundantly coated with curienite, occurring as bright yellow microcrystalline aggregates covering parts of the matrix and surrounding the francevillite rosettes. These coatings produce a spectacular color contrast between vivid yellow and intense orange tones.

The entire assemblage sits on a dark siliceous matrix supporting numerous crystals distributed across the specimen, giving the piece a dense and highly aesthetic appearance.

This chervetite–francevillite–curienite association from Mounana (Gabon) represents a particularly desirable combination highly sought after by collectors of rare uranium minerals.
