Description

A historic specimen of geyserite from Gibbons Falls in Yellowtone National Park.   Impossible to obtain today, this is from the collection of Arizona mineral legend Arthur Flagg(1883 - 1961), author and founder of the Mineralogical Society of Arizona.   Arthur spent time in Idaho in 1912 and it's likely he collected the specimen at that time, decades before laws against removing small natural items from the parks.   This specimen was in storage at the society's museum in Phoenix for 50 years until parts of his collection were sold in 2011.
