Description

Nissonite is a secondary mineral belonging to the phosphate, arsenate, and vanadate mineral class. It was first scientifically described in 1966 and named after the American amateur mineralogist William H. Nisson (1912–1965). It is a hydrous copper-magnesium phosphate. It forms emerald-green to blue-green tabular crystals with a rhombohedral outline on matrix.
