Description

A classic piece of the radium-bearing barite specimens from the well-known locality at Lahost (Jenikov). Dark olive-green to brownish Radian Barite crystals exhibit a sharp prismatic habit and are hosted on a quartzite matrix stained by orange-brown iron oxides. The largest crystal reaches 9 mm in length and displays a bright vitreous lustre, providing a strong colour contrast against the host rock. The radiobaryte is slightly radioactive. There are some broken crystals.
