Description

Very fine micromount featuring attractive sprays and aggregates of scainiite crystals, developed on a light carbonate-rich matrix, from the classic locality of Buca della Vena.
The scainiite occurs as very elongated acicular to prismatic crystals, arranged in radiating bundles and sprays, sometimes slightly curved. The crystals display a steel-blue to deep blue color, with a bright metallic luster that stands out strongly under light. Well-defined longitudinal faces give the specimen a highly dynamic and graphic appearance.
The beige to light brown, finely crystalline matrix provides a clean, neutral background, enhancing the bluish metallic reflections of the crystals. The sinuous arrangement of the sprays creates an elegant and natural composition, particularly striking in macro photography.
A representative and aesthetic specimen from this well-known Italian sulfosalt locality, ideal for specialized micromineral collections, Tuscan locality displays, and macro photography.
