Description

Spectacular micromount featuring beautiful radiating aggregates and sprays of cetineite, coating a light, carbonate-rich matrix, from the historic locality of Le Cetine.
Cetineite occurs as extremely fine acicular crystals, forming dense, silky tufts, with a bright yellow-orange to vivid orange color. The crystals display a vitreous to silky luster, strongly reflecting light and producing a striking sparkling effect at microscopic scale.
The sprays are well individualized and sometimes overlapping, creating a rich three-dimensional texture. The light-colored matrix provides an excellent background, enhancing the intensity of the color and the delicate needle-like habit of the crystals.
