Description

Outstanding micromount of fluorite from the Ambazac district (Haute-Vienne, France), featuring well-developed cubic crystals of deep blue to slightly purplish color, set in a light-colored matrix rich in quartz and fine-grained whitish phases. The cubes show sharp faces, well-defined geometry, and good transparency to translucency, revealing subtle internal zoning and variations in color intensity.

The crystals occur in compact groups, partly embedded in the matrix, forming a highly aesthetic composition in which the strong blue color contrasts beautifully with the pale gangue. The vitreous luster and excellent crystal quality provide a refined visual effect under micro-photographic conditions.

Such fluorite crystallizations are typical of the hydrothermal vein systems of the French Massif Central, renowned for producing well-formed and vividly colored specimens.
