Description

Fine micromount of cassiterite (SnO₂) from Letmathe, Germany, featuring an unusual crystallization as tabular to bladed (lamellar) crystals, showing a steel-grey to bluish-grey color with a distinct sub-metallic luster.

The crystals occur in scattered groups, locally forming small bridges and arched structures, giving the specimen a very graphic and “floating” appearance under magnification. The cassiterite sits on an ochre-yellow alteration matrix, with fine acicular secondary crystallizations visible in places

Recently all my padded letters came all back to me, in fact, they are normally only for "gifts" so they are not going through customs anymore (and warned me of a fee ..).
