Příbram District, Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic

Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)

2 × 3 × 1.7 cm
Description

Covering part of the matrix surface, a bright yellow coating of uranospinite forms a finely crystallized botryoidal layer.

The mineral develops a microgranular to globular texture, composed of countless tiny spheres tightly packed together. This structure gives the specimen a slightly velvety to granular appearance, typical of secondary uranium phosphates.

Scattered across the yellow surface are tiny black crystals, likely belonging to other secondary minerals from the deposit. Their dark color creates a striking contrast with the bright lemon-yellow tone of the uranospinite.

The specimen displays a well-defined mineralized band within the host rock, illustrating localized circulation of uranium- and arsenic-rich solutions in the deposit.

In a box 3.5x4cm, labelled
