Description

The specimen consists of a fan-shaped cluster of tabular to lamellar crystals, translucent to milky white in color. The crystals display a vitreous to silky luster, with delicate, slightly tapered terminations. Subtle cream to pale orange tones are locally visible, likely related to minor inclusions or evaporitic matrix material.

Meyerhofferite is a hydrated calcium borate (CaB₃O₃(OH)₅·H₂O), typical of boron-rich evaporitic environments. The Monte Blanco district is well known for rare borate minerals formed in highly saline closed-basin settings.

Under ultraviolet light, the specimen shows a faint orange fluorescence, subtle but noticeable
